Based in London and Utrecht, alternative-pop trio Render Ghosts utterly dazzle with their infectious synth-infused single, ‘Keeping My Number’.
‘Keeping My Number’ has a primarily jovial and upbeat sound, lit up with a gorgeous combination of keyboards and synths. However, there is an undoubtable tinge of melancholy throughout which ties perfectly to the lyrics of the track. It delves into the tricky side of love and relationships, exploring the narrator’s struggle to make their ex acknowledge that their relationship has come to an end.
When crafting ‘Keeping My Number’, Render Ghosts took inspiration from commercial pop artists, such as Dua Lipa and Jax Jones. This influence is incredibly evident in the track, it is strikingly reminiscent of ’80s pop but with an oh-so contemporary twist.
