Asha Gold catches the love bug on new feel-good single ‘Debut’

Budding UK artist Asha Gold is on a roll, returning with her second single of the year, released under BAD KEY records, ‘Debut’. With two previous releases under her belt, ‘Too Good’ and ‘Passenger’ the classically trained North Londoner shows no signs of slowing down, even in the midst of a global pandemic!

The blueprint for her latest track was surprisingly conceived during the middle of a nation-wide lockdown due to COVID-19. Although most people were probably grumpy and miserable from being cooped up indoors for months on end, Asha had love on the brain. She, along with the help of friend and producer Mitch Jones, co-wrote the entire song on a zoom call. The result was ‘Debut’, a much-needed slice of feel-good R&B. It seems Corona Virus wasn’t the only contagion on the loose either, as it appears that young Asha’s caught the love bug and it’s her first time!

‘Debut’ tells the tale of Asha being young and in love; scared of the heartbreak but equally thrilled by the potential of it all. On the track, the 19-year-old battles with all the usual anxieties of a first love; finding the strength to let go and trusting enough to let someone in.

“It’s about falling in love for the first time, so it has this sense of innocence and sweetness throughout — navigating unfamiliar feelings, fighting those feelings off, and then eventually giving into them knowing they are genuine and not something to be scared of.” – Asha Gold.

‘Debut’ will be the first track on Asha Gold’s soon to be released EP.
