Don Powell, founding member and drummer of the legendary English rock band Slade, has released his debut album with the new band Don & The Dreamers. Backed by an all-star line-up of Nordic hitmakers, Don and his band deliver a powerful blend of blues and rockabilly, showcasing their musical prowess and old-school showmanship.
Titled “It’s Never Too Late to be a Rockstar,” the album is a testament to Don’s enduring passion for music, even decades after his success in the glam rock scene. The album features mostly live recordings, with only a few added features such as gospel singers, saxophones, harmonica, and organ by rock legend Mick Gallagher. It also pays homage to The Animals with a cover of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” and a refreshed arrangement of Slade’s “Far Far Away.”
