Empowering and defiant ‘Things Don’t Fit’ balances it’s dreamy production with it’s message of self love and not giving a fuck what other people think. An advocate for LGBTQ+ causes, which is something close to the songwriter’s heart, Eva often uses her music to spread awareness for LGBTQ+ and mental health issues, something which gives her songs depth and meaning beyond the surface of the lyricism.
Blending layers of finger gently picked guitar with muted drums and airy vocal harmonies, Eva captures a emotive beauty on ‘Things Don’t Fit’ under her determined, defiant effortless lead vocal.
Speaking about the new single, Eva shares: “Things Don’t Fit is about growing out of your old self — physical and mental. Inspired by an accidental ripping of an old prom dress, the song details my gratitude for how far I’ve come in my eating disorder recovery, which led me to become the proud, independent, musical, loud, driven 21 year old I am today. I hope that this song inspires other people to love themselves and their growth, too.”
