We can’t confirm if they are baristas, but Lucky Iris really do know how to create warm ‘n fuzzy hits. The Leeds-based alt-pop duo consists of vocalist Maeve Florsheim and multi-instrumentalist Jasper Exley. Their music is a cocktail of fun, simplicity, and catchiness, and their new single ‘Coffee Shop’ is 100% guaranteed to get you humming “LA LA LA LA LA” within the first minute.
Speaking on their most recent single, vocalist Maeve spoke on the band’s Bandcamp:
“Coffee Shop was really just created from our desire to get out into the world during lockdown. Although we were desperate to travel again, we found ourselves really wanting just to sit in our favourite local coffee shop and feel that little sense of normality that comes with being out and about running errands and stressing about running errands. The little things which seemed suddenly so big when they got taken away from us!”
The new release is produced by Ed Heaton and mixed by Lee Smith (Holly Humberstone, Easy Life)
