Newcomer singer-songwriter LOR has shared her stunning sophomore single, ‘Sip’, a bittersweet ode to love, drugs and the addictiveness of them both.
Treading a fine line between dark pop and modern folk, ‘Sip’ features LOR’s iconic vocals alongside a gorgeously simplistic ukelele melody, synths and a piano, courtesy of Platinum music producer, and long-time collaborator, Slwjmz.
Honest and introspective, ‘Sip’ sees LOR recall a difficult time in her past when a relationship with a partner who suffered from alcoholism began to have a negative impact on their relationship, and her as a partner and a human being. Written from LOR’s intimate, personal perspective ‘Sip’ invites the listener into a deeper and darker side of LOR and her songwriting as she admits to allowing the chaos to continue.
Speaking on the message behind the single, LOR explains:
“Sip is an emotional diary entry from a time where my head and heart felt ravaged. It’s about the sort of ‘crazy’ another person can swindle you into feeling – the madness starts to seep into your being. It becomes a sick, fun game you can’t stop playing.”

A welcomed new voice in the Canadian pop scene, LOR is already showing incredible potential as an artist both vocally and lyrically, and with her debut EP set for release later this year, we can’t wait to see what LOR cooks up next.
