A$H. – PRI$$Y EP Review

Having appeared on American TV with a stint on Chasing Destiny, A$H. has firmly established herself a one to watch. The new EP ‘PRI$$¥’ is a clear demonstration of A$H.’s talent as both a performer and a songwriter with 5 tracks that set the scene for an R&B artist capable of reaching dizzying heights.

The EP’s opener ‘Only’ immediately introduces A$H.’s sultry, vibey sound. Building a wash of synths, a swinging beat and A$H.’s tight, yet at times echo drenched vocals the track floats between pop production and moments of swaying ambience.
Elsewhere on the EP, the driving ‘That’s All’ brings a bopping energy introducing A$H.’s clear Hip-Hop influence while her vocals layer harmonies as the track moves through it’s jazzy chord sequence. Floating R&B single ‘Know More’ offers more of an insight into the emotional side of A$H’s writing with a biting, sarcastic and yet somewhat fragile delivery offering a listen which goes deeper than the initial lyrical content.

Closing with the upbeat pop number ‘The Love Song’ A$H. once again shows her range as a songwriter, not only sticking to her R&B influence but blurring the lines between genres without a thought. A solid EP with a lot of promise for the future, it will be interesting to see where A$H. decides to take her ever evolving sound next!
