NEW MUSIC: ‘For The Record’ by Dutch Criminal Record

Aptly released during a heatwave in one of the hottest April weeks in history, Chichester’s Dutch Criminal Record have released a new single in ‘For The Record’ and listening to this feels like an ice cold beer between your lips. A proper sunbathing, chuck on your socks ‘n sandals kind of feel-good tune this one. If this song was an emoji it would be the fire one.

For The Record was one of the first songs that the band actually created when forming a handful of years ago, so it’s a retro and nostalgic kind of ‘new’ Dutch Criminal Record release.

The south coast indie quartet draw immediate comparisons to the likes of indie big-hitters Vampire Weekend and also to Two Door Cinema Club’s former sound (back before they released their 2016 album Gameshow).

DCR definitely have the sound of a big stage summer festival kind of band, it seems criminal to have them playing in small venues but you can catch the guys at our last Turtle Tempo showcase of the month at The Finsbury, London on Monday 30th April where they’ll be supporting indie-rock band Only Sun. You can get your tickets FREE on the DICE app here.
