Brighton-based Twilight Driving has all the qualities that make a decent indie-pop band. Their latest single ‘Soft & Pink’ tells of the hardships of falling in love. The story comes alive in the lyrics, giving the song a Bruce Springsteen/Brian Fallon feel. Add those powerful vocals to the confident and hook-driven guitars and you’ve got a winning formula. However, what separates the song from those influences is the 80’s synth that hangs low in the mix, adding warmth.
There’s limited content online about these guys, which suggests they are fresh and up-and-coming. They have the usual social media accounts, so go support Twilight Driving because they certainly have that ‘something’. They are set to release their next single ‘When Love Goes Wrong’ on 14 Feb, swiftly followed by supporting Orchards at Brighton’s The Hope & Ruin on 15 Feb.
