In June, The Fin. released their latest single ‘Pale Blue,’ but now the band are treating us to a remix of their song ‘Afterglow’. If you haven’t already heard last month’s release, ‘Pale Blue’ is perfect for any summer playlist, and ‘Afterglow’ is on the same wave length.
There have been a few bands lately producing epic cinematic pieces of music and The Fin. are no different. Afterglow is awash with synths; their tidal pulse is a current that rolls over, through and under the song.
While the hollow percussion and electro drum beat dances on top of the waves. The song will get you dancing, or at least swaying your head side-to-side.
The Fin.’s brand of chillwave and dream-pop falls into the same bracket as MGMT. The synths and breathy, drawn out vocals are a near match. It’s a comforting sound that is effective in creating a summer anthem.
The band have experience playing at some of the world’s most famous festivals, having played Fuji Rocks, SXSW and Rising Sun. And they have toured with Circa Waves and The Last Shadow Puppets.
Afterglow was the first song and the lead track to be taken from the band’s new album ‘Afterglow,’ which is due out next year.
