Our fellow South-East Londoner and singer-songwriter Carmody shares with us a selection of her personal favourite pieces of music for our 5 For Friday feature.
Carmody keeps her identity on the down low, the soloist opted for her middle name as her stage moniker, and earlier this year sold-out her very first headline show at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington. Swiftly followed a couple of months later with yet another sold-out headline show at Omeara in May, and most recently supporting Tom Misch at Somerset House.
If you enjoy Oh Wonder-esque synth-pop with a minimalist Joni Mitchell-inspired edge, as well as mesmirising vocals to match then you’re in luck as Carmody ticks those boxes. Check out recent release ‘Missing’ here! Anyway, here’s Carmody’s five faves that she’s very kindly shared with us:
Fairweather Friend – Kadhja Bonet
Work – Charlotte Day Wilson
Tapestry – Liv Dawson
Breathe – Alfa Mist
San Francisco – Laurel
