LIVE REVIEW: The Rhythm Method @ The Great Escape

So what do you do when you come across a duo in which you can’t quite decide whether it’s some kind of musical genius or just noise? You go and see them live, of course. I saw The Rhythm Method at The Lexington in London for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I can confirm, it’s genius.

As Brighton’s festival The Great Escape was approaching and they were announced to be performing, they made it straight to the top of my ‘must see’ list. Performing on the first day of the festival as part of “The Alternative Escape’ at The Black Lion, they packed out the venue. Their catchy chorus’ that you can pick up having not listened to them before meant that with just a quick scout across the venue I was met with faces singing along, drinks in hand, undoubtably having a great time.

They performed their most well known hits Party Politics and Home Sweet Home which created a circle of over the top dancing in the centre of the crowd with no other than lead singer Lewis Duffin from Hotel Lux bang in the middle of it. Naturally they did their “if you vote Tory then you’re a nonce” speech which was met with a roar of cheers from the crowd before their set came to an only too short end.

They will be performing @ the Sebright Arms in London on June 5th and I would encourage you to attend.
