LIVE REVIEW: Little Comets @ The Leadmill, Sheffield (18/2/17)

It had been just over a year, on Friday 18th February 2017, since I had seen Indie five-piece Little Comets, live. They were on tour, promoting their fourth album WOREHEAD (out now) in Sheffield, at the popular venue, The Leadmill.

Support act, Eliza & The Bear bounded onto the stage. Their set was infectious and energetic, playing well-known singles FriendsIt Get’s Cold and Lion’s Heart, encapturing the audience.

Little Comets graced the stage at 9pm. Rob (lead vocals, guitar), opened their set with a quick ‘Hello’ and they started with their single A Little Opus, from their second album Life Is Elsewhere (2012). The set list was an irresistible blend of songs, old and new, including Worry, Jennifer, Isles; as well as, a fair few of their newly released singles Common Things and The Man Who Wrote Thriller. Of course, not to mention that they performed ultimate crowd-pleasers JoannaDancing Song and Adultery from their debut album In Search Of Elusive Little Comets (2011)

Overall, yet again, a fantastic setlist from the Newcastle-based quintet. Little Comets never fail to amaze me. A must-see for your dose of classic Indie-pop vibes.
