INTRODUCING: Slowlines

London-based quartet Slowlines are supporting Eliza and the Bear on their final UK tour of 2016 which kicked off last night in Cardiff – alongside talented South-Londoner Scott Verrill – the moniker of KYKO.

Although a couple of Slowlines band members are actually related to EATB’s lead-guitarist Martin Dukelow, it’s not a fluke that they’re a supporting act this week – in fact, they’re seriously good value for money.

Aside from the family ties, it won’t be too alien for one of the Slowlines bandmates to be on a tour with Eliza and the Bear – guitarist Tim Hillier Brook, who was formerly a band member of one of my personal favourite musical discoveries in a band that was known as “Sons & Lovers”. They were actually on a UK-wide tour with Eliza and the Bear a few years back although the band then sadly went on a unannounced hiatus after a tweet promising new music to the thousands of their listeners.

With Slowlines though, you get a plethora of awesome bleeps and bloops that your ears can’t help but admire in the likes of A Dream I Had’ and ‘So Far’. They’re sure to set the blogosphere alight and are bound to attract the interest of listeners with their generally upbeat positive sounds – and in my opinion, with one of the best and a certainly experienced lead guitarist in Tim, for an independent/alternative act like Slowlines, you certainly wouldn’t be a fool to suggest that the band has huge potential to take the planet of SoundCloud by storm.

One thing is for sure though, the Dukelow family produce some seriously great band members. Literally, if you’re a Dukelow sperm you probably come out of the womb playing the guitar or something.

You can catch Slowlines on at 7:45pm – KYKO’s set is due to start at 8:30 and Eliza and the Bear are billed for 9:30pm. Grab your last minute tickets here.
