TURTLE TEMPO

I took the trip north of the river to The Finsbury Pub to proudly witness our curated night of #BLOGTOBER Festival.

The Finsbury is situated alongside Finsbury Park and has been the epicentre of a plethora of various upcoming acts every day this month as part of #BLOGTOBER festival, where music blogs such as Clash Mag & Indie Shuffle picked their very own individual line-ups.

Kicking off the night were South-London based Videocean. Here I briefly met one of the guitarists of the band outside the mens’ restroom before their set.

In all honesty, Videocean could have been a trick or a treat with no tracks on their SoundCloud page as of yet. However, they certainly impressed with their chilled-out, pleasant psychedelic style. Kicking off with “Testament” it certainly felt like we were listening to a band that have found their feet very early on in their formation, and a quartet that have a real potential to grow.

Brijs soon followed – and despite being recognisable from TV’s across the UK in a recent Strongbow advert, (other refreshments are available) they were actually playing their first ever live show. 

They really created a brilliant vibe around the N1 venue and finished off with “Thunder” one of my personal favourite discoveries of 2016. An album will be on the way next year for Hugo Goggin’s Brijs, and undoubtedly plenty more live shows too.

The Amazons came to the stage two weeks after their headline tour, as the penultimate act of Lost In The Manor’s month-long festival.

Masked in make-up distinctive to the 1970’s American rock band KISS, the band played to a packed room, treating us with a brand new song in “Raindrops” off of their upcoming album. This will be out sometime next year. They finished their set sending everyone home buzzing with “Junk Food Forever” ringing through everyones’ ears.

All in all, it was a pleasure to curate such a great night of music at a cracking venue. Big thanks to Chris and all the team at Lost In The Manor. It was a true honour to be involved!
