The Night Café recently headlined another gig at the Buyers Club and just like last time, they absolutely killed it!
As the lads went up on stage to do sound check, the crowd gravitated towards the stage, fully engaged and eagerly awaiting. Kicking off the stellar evening with their infectious track ‘Time’, the boys got the crowd in a dancing mood, which carried on throughout their tremendous set, playing their already released singles, as well as introducing the audience to new songs they’ve recently been working on.
Though the crowd didn’t know the words to the new tracks, that didn’t stop them from dancing along with their mates. I didn’t catch the name of the last song played but I found the song stuck in my head while coming home from the gig, tapping my legs as if I was drumming the tune.
The highlight of the night for me was hearing their debut single ‘Growing Up’ live – singing along and covertly playing air guitar. One criticism I had (which is a minor one) was that the lead singer Sean’s microphone was a touch quiet but that didn’t stop me from having a good time jamming out to them. If you’re lucky enough to be able to go to T in the Park, be sure to check out these guys’ set on the BBC Introducing stage on the Saturday.
If you’re looking for a genuine band with good songs who put on a great live show, The Night Café are just the band for you. Give them a follow on their Twitter, listen to aforementioned songs and more on their Soundcloud, and watch official music videos of their hits on their YouTube.
I’ve already uploaded a post on The Night Café, introducing them to you lovely readers, so you can check that out here.
