INTRODUCING : The Swiines

The Swiines are a five piece band from Nottingham consisting of frontman Scott Bugg, guitarist Adi Young, bassist Rory Black, drummer Daniel Taylor and guitarist Elliot Calladine.

When writing about The Swiines, it’s difficult not to mention Jake Bugg who is Scott’s cousin. Having previously supported the likes of Reverend and the makers as well as Jake Bugg, they have proved they are a talented band and have really started to make a name for themselves, and not just to be referenced as ‘the band whose singer is Jake Bugg’s cousin’.

Although they are labelled as indie, the band have their own unique sound and put a modern spin on some of their sixties sounding rock ‘n’ roll.

Listening to The Swiines you are instantly reminded of Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg – in their track ‘Stonefaced’.

Punchy, energetic and entertaining, The Swiines could easily be the next success on the Nottingham music production line. They are a great fantastic band and are brilliant live.

My advice?  Check out their music, especially their track ‘Love is Blind’ and ‘In the Dark’, and if you ever get the chance to go and see them live, grab it.
