Marsicans took to the stage in their support slot to Natives, the quartet had just come off the back of a mile-clocking few days, playing their joyous indie-rock tunes in Cardiff before heading north to Manchester and then back down south to London at Camden Assembly – which was recently formerly known as the Barfly.
Amongst their ‘old but gold’ tracks, they played a couple of new gems, including a bit of a romantic, emotional one ‘Too Good’ – almost somewhat unlike the Yorkshire chaps, which we will hopefully be hearing on Spotify/SoundCloud/iTunes in a undisclosed handful of months time. Here’s a cheeky teaser:
Another brand new track was a personal ‘Wake Up Freya’ which lead singer James wrote about his once unborn (now 1-year-old) niece.
Unfortunately though, it seems that their 3-year-old ‘Terrapin’ just isn’t one that’s on the band’s setlist, but I guess they can only play so many bangers in an alloted time.
Of course the recent jet lag (well, van lag) did not show one bit, as they finished off with ‘Absence’ the band pumped the almost-full room completely full of euphoria ready for Natives to take to the stage.
One of the best, coolest ‘support’ acts you’ll ever get the opportunity to see as they now go on to finish the last couple of dates off with Natives and then prepare for a busy festival season.
