We were lucky enough to get a chance to quiz Swedish singer-songwriter Lucas Nord about life, music, and who he would most enjoy being stuck in a lift with!
The 24-year-old Stockholm-based electronic musician released a brand new single titled ‘This Morning’ last week, which you can check out below, Lucas also tells us what influenced the hit.
Thanks for taking the time out to speak to us Lucas! How did you get into music?
My grandpa, mom and uncle were all musicians so it’s always been in the family. I started off playing the drums when I was super young, I got into songwriting, played in a bunch of bands and then started producing at high school where I was studying drumming as my main focus.
Your latest release ‘This Morning’ is a one hell of a head bopper and a finger clicker. What’s the meaning behind it?
Thank You! I actually wrote it like 2 hours after a bad break up. I went to the studio pretty much straight after and wrote about that morning and my thoughts about what happened.
How would you describe your music in three words?
Catchy, funky, pop
If you were stuck in a lift with someone famous – who would it be?
Probably Kendrick Lamar right now. Just to try to get inside his mind and talk about his creative process and how he thinks when making a complete body of work.
Have you got any more music on the way?
Yes. I have so many new songs that I can’t wait to release!
