The Magic Gang have released a new track entitled ‘How Can I Compete’ through Maccabees’ Felix White’s Yala! Records, and have hinted about a brand new EP release in April.
The new track sees the Brighton lads at their finest, with an instant indie-rock classic reminiscent of old school The Kooks. With tasty guitar licks, a sun-drenched feel and a tortured, yet infectious chorus, the new offering makes any listener feel elated and downright unstoppable. Picture a summery jaunt around town on a Friday, and that’s ‘How Can I Compete’ at its core.
Talking to MistaJam on Radio 1, where the new track debuted as the Hottest Record in the World, vocalist Jake Kaye commented about further studio plans, “I feel like we’re at the point now where we’re piecing together what’s going to be on the album.”
With exciting news surrounding their debut the band are also due to embark on a UK tour with fellow Brighton artist Abattoir Blues. Described by the band on Twitter as [going to be] ‘utter bliss’, the tour will see the pair joined by Liverpudlian band Paris Youth Foundation.
