Oh Wonder have announced that their upcoming album – which is set to be released in 2017, is “nostalgic” and “a lot more energetic” than their self-titled debut album which was released in 2015, according to Josephine Vander Gucht.
Anthony West joined Josephine as they spoke in their South-east London studio on a live Facebook Q&A on Thursday. Revealing exclusively that they’ll be heading back pretty soon to tour America once again, 2017 is undoubtedly going to be yet another busy year for the electro-soul-pop pair as they prepare to set off once again to tour around the world for their adoring public.
We don’t know too much about the new album, but we do know that three of the songs on the album will be called ‘Solo’, ‘Waste’ and ‘Heartstrings’. I’d also stick my neck on the line to say that a song titled ‘My Friends’, will be featured on the album too, as the duo first played the song at The Roundhouse in London; fittingly dedicating it to their family and friends that they don’t manage to see very often due to their musical commitments.
But saying that, it’s anyone’s guess what will be on album #2. The pair have written in excess of 60+ new tracks while in their tour bus travelling all over the USA and Canada. One thing is certain, there should be plenty more albums to come.
