Five-a-Friday – 09.12.16

Every day, music platforms such as SoundCloud and Spotify are flooded with a plethora of music, so much so that sometimes even the freshest and the most eargasmic of pieces can somehow end up slipping through the net.

Five-a-Friday ensures that you don’t need to flick through various playlists and spend your beloved Friday hunting for your favourite tracks of tomorrow – because we have found the crème de la crème today!

1) “Lost” by Sorcha Richardson

Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson produced this following a recent heart-break suffered by one of her friends. A powerful indie-ballad which is certainly relatable to a lot of people.

2) “Home” by Craig Gallagher

Sticking with the Irish singer-songwriter theme – This track features acoustic music at it’s absolute best thanks to Dublin-based singer-songwriter Craig Gallagher. Oddly, you won’t find too much on the blogosphere about Craig; despite racking up over 1 million plays on his debut EP. Let’s hope for more music on the way!

3) “It’s True” by Seeing Hands

We cannot get enough of Geordie dream-pop newcomers Seeing Hands, the quartet released their debut single a few months ago, and this is a pretty awesome follow-up!

4) “Get Closer” by XYLØ

Funky brother-and-sister pairing XYLØ from California bring the funky beats for this Friday’s five with their newest hit released earlier this week.

5) “Pure” by Shannon Saunders

“‘Pure’ is the awakening of the soul when you first experience unconditional love. Musically it is a marriage of heavy underground beats with ambient vocals, taking you on a journey between first heartbreak and first love.”
