ALBUM REVIEW: ‘Assouf’ by Picture Atlantic

“Assouf” is the third album by Northern California alt-rock band Picture Atlantic. In comparison to their previous albums, the band says that it is “darker, but also more hopeful,” which sums up the general feeling of the album very accurately.

The first track of the trio’s 12-track album – ‘Peers’, starts off pretty strong with an energy that remains consistent throughout. My personal favourite though from Assouf was the very last track, ‘Mercurial’, which best captures the overall vibe of the album and is best played on full volume!

Lead singer, Nik Bartunek, sings each word with a powerful, beautiful emotion that made me fall in love with this song from the first line. Be sure to check out ‘Assouf’ below on SoundCloud!
