Fuzz-pop four-piece Clean Cut Kid have unveiled their new single ‘We Used To Be In Love‘, which premiered on Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio One last Wednesday night.
Front-man Mike Halls explained about the single, “One of the most heart shattering things about breaking up with someone is how this person, who used to be at the centre of your whole universe, is suddenly no more a part of your life than a distant stranger. ‘We Used To Be In Love’ is about passing that person in the street and wanting to scream “DON’T YOU REMEMBER WHAT WE USED TO FEEL FOR EACH OTHER?!?!”
We Used To Be In Love expresses the heartbreak of losing that intimate connection you had with a lost love. Clean Cut Kid’s first three singles ‘Vitamin C’, ‘Runaway’ and ‘Pick Me Up’ introduced a band brimming with unspeakable hooks and full of imagination, with songs that demanded your attention from the first second to the last. Time spent hunkered down in their Liverpool HQ honing their sound and endlessly writing and re-writing has resulted in Clean Cut Kid emerging fully formed with a truckload of great songs at their disposal.
The single is released ahead of their up-and-coming debut EP and their recently announced 10-date Autumn headlining tour. Dates are as follows:
