LIVE REVIEW : The Stone Roses (Etihad Stadium // 15th June 2016)

Having the opportunity of seeing such an influential band like The Stone Roses doesn’t come round often and I am beyond ecstatic that I grabbed this opportunity with both hands.

I adore this band! (Pardon the pun) ever since I first listened to ‘Waterfall’, ‘She Bangs the Drums’, and my all time favourite ‘I Am The Resurrection’ because of the memory I have with the song. To hear those songs and many more brilliant tracks live, with the ground shaking, my eyes mesmerised with their psychedelic set, near screaming the words with everyone around me. I was for sure in my element. In one word, Incredible. You have to experience it for yourself.

Though Ian Brown had a few mishaps with the lyrics, Mani dropping a few chords, I was expecting them to be a little rusty, you could hardly notice with the crowd bringing such a tremendous atmosphere, especially standing in the middle of it all. Even the support acts got a lot of love from the fans, Public Enemy most notably.

I find it hard to pick out just one stand out song, any song where John Squire is on guitar I am instantly hooked. ‘Love Spreads’, ‘All For One’, ‘Fools Gold’ and ‘Shoot You Down’ will all be implanted in my brain for a very long time.

If you are seeing The Stone Roses at T in The Park this Friday, you are in for an absolute treat, get there early soak up the sheer size of the event and enjoy. If I could, I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
