Jersey Budd – a name you probably haven’t heard of before but a name that you should definitely remember! The singer-songwriter from Leicester has supported acts such as The Cast and Kasabian respectively.

His first album “Wonderland” was released in 2009 which included backing vocals from his friend Tom Meighan, who is the lead vocalist for the well known rock band Kasabian.

Jersey Budd is everything you’d want from a southern rock singer, whilst mixing it all with a helping of strings and horns that you won’t be able to help but love.

On a personal level, Jersey did a surprise mini-gig for my 21st birthday party and I got to pick the songs he played, which was a mix of his own songs and covers. After he had finished he stayed and bought me a drink and thanked me for picking some of his own songs and just for generally being a huge fan of his.

After the mini-gig and other gigs I’ve been to where Jersey has been a support act, people always say to me “he’s brilliant”, “his voice is amazing” and “why haven’t I heard about him before”.

I’ve seen him play live at some of his own small gigs around Leicester, and he has never failed to impress me!

He is currently recording some new tracks, which will be released hopefully over the summer, after hearing a few of them I can honestly say that they are really worth the wait.

But don’t take my word for it; go and check him out for yourselves on his Soundcloud account!
