NEW MUSIC: ‘Wide Eyed’ by Slowlines

I recall London-based quartet Slowlights self-deprecatingly introduce themselves to Scala around this time last year along the lines of ‘we’re Slowlights – you’ll never have heard of us before’, but with their new delicately layered single ‘Wide Eyed’, they might just be a name you’ll be seeing in lights.

Slowly building up with piano chords that it almost feels like it’s testing the waters with – before exploding into a fun, energetic bridge and chorus which explores the hidden depths of indie rock. A single which feels almost tailor-made for festival stages. Top notch stuff indeed.

You can see Slowlights at the very swanky Camden Assembly on 20th November – tickets here.
