North London-based singer-songwriter Katharsis may just prove to a name to keep a eye out for this year, if the soloist’s debut single ‘Come With Me’ is anything to go by. With vocals reminiscent of Meadowlark’s Kate McGill and a delicately layered electro infusion which draws comparisons to the likes of Amber Bain of The Japanese House.
Freya Volk, (who goes by the moniker of Katharsis) draws musical inspiration from the likes of Carmody and IDER. The artist and producer decided at the age of 18 to trade in her small town rural life in Germany, in place of big city London life.
Speaking about ‘Come With Me’ – her first official release: “I wrote this song about finding a new love that feels very natural. It’s about the kind of person that can make you feel at ease just by being present and keep you from worrying about the future.”
You can get free tickets to see Katharsis supporting Malory on Monday 19th February for Lost In The Manor at The Finsbury here.
