Jozem adds to his impressive repertoire of heartfelt and thought-provoking singles with the release of ‘Dreams’,

A best-kept secret of Toronto’s alternative music scene, Jozem adds to his impressive repertoire of heartfelt and thought-provoking singles with the release of ‘Dreams’, a beautifully self-written and produced ambient, experimental soul single. Accompanied by a gorgeous, conceptual music video shot and directed by Ayo Tsalithaba, ‘Dreams’ boasts all the haunting melodies and introspective songwriting that Jozem has come to be known for.

Written by Jozem during a time of great uncertainty, ‘Dreams’ recalls a time in his life when Jozem was doing his best to achieve his life’s goals but nothing seemed to be going his way. Fear and self-doubt ultimately crept in and ‘Dreams’ was penned as a response to his inner demons.

Speaking on the message behind his new single, Jozem explains:

“‘Dreams’ is a meditation, a prayer and a projection of where I want to be in life, a guiding compass of sorts. The song is really all about cutting out those naysayers, the internal and external voices of self-doubt that lead you to stall or try to block you from realizing your goals. ‘Dreams’ is about recognizing and having the strength to do away with the toxic influences in your life that reap negativity and self-doubt, repurposing that toxicity and using it as fuel to propel oneself further. Ultimately, it’s about remaining steadfast, knowing that you are on the right path, that the journey is as important and sometimes even more meaningful than the destination.”

Jozem’s lyrics and sounds emanate from intense depth and contemplation, offering a brief glimpse into his soul, whilst leaving room for interpretation and self-application. With a sophomore project, it came to me in a dream, on the horizon, Jozem hopes to extend fans a further glimpse into his world with the release of ‘Dreams’.
