Beneath The Surface: glue70.

Good afternoon and welcome back to this weeks Beneath The Surface chatarooni. On todays edition I had the pleasure of nattering away to the rather elusive, uber talented singer-songwriter and producer – glue70. You know the drill, grab your tipple, take a quick break and join in the convo below.

Hey hey & thanks for chatting with me today (poet & I definitely did know it)

What would you say first sparked your interest in music/who inspired you to make music?

I first became interested in music when I was a kid watching music videos on TV. I remember enjoying Daft Punk, Modjo, Roger Sanchez, mainly 90s house songs that made me think about making music, even at that young age.

How would you describe the music you are currently creating?

The music I’m currently making is simple, bass heavy and atmospheric. The kind of music that could be played in the background and prick up some ears perhaps.

What does your creative process look like?

My creative process involves a cup of coffee and my laptop, then I just let any ideas free flow into my computer. Sometime I listen to other music for inspiration but usually I just try to feel a feeling or emotion and go with it.

Who would you most like to collaborate with? (let’s send it out to the universe and make it happen!)

I would most like to collaborate with floating points at the moment. I love the emotion of his sound and the transitions from heavy bass and breakbeat to beautiful melodic synths and string lines.

What is the one message you would like to send out to your fans?

To my fans, I want to say how grateful I am for your support over the years, and I am always happy to answer any questions anyone has or even just chat about things.

What’s your top tip to rejuvenate your creativity/get over a writer’s block?

To get over a writers block, my advice is to accept that there is a block there and maybe do something else for a while, creative or not. I usually find that after a while of listening rather than making, I find inspiration and want to get back to creating again.

What’s next for you, what do we have to look forward to/ what are you currently working on?

Next for me is my release 2070 with Majestic Casual. After this, who knows. I hope to be doing more shows once our situation allows it again! At the moment I’m just trying to give my fans content on a more regular basis. I have a lot to put out but I’m a super perfectionist so it’s sometimes hard to let go of things and just put them out there.

Thanks again for chatting with me glue70, we look forward to your next release!

Until then, join me in streaming his newest double track release ‘Dark Days’ and ‘Time Goes Slow’ right here.
